Welcome to this week's leadership update. We're committed to keeping you informed about the important developments across our organization, celebrating our team's achievements, and sharing insights that matter to you. This weekly communication is designed to foster transparency, recognize excellence, and strengthen our community as we work together toward our shared mission of serving those who depend on us.
NACHC Goal: Reach 60 Senate signers before the deadline of Thursday, April 16. Send an email and make a call to urge your senators to sign the FY27 CHC Appropriations Letter.
Each year, Congress must approve 30% of Community Health Center (CHC) funding through an appropriations process, and strong bipartisan support is essential. Every signature on the annual appropriations letter sends a clear message to Congressional leadership about the importance of funding CHCs.
The House version of the FY2027 appropriations letter closed last week, with an all-time high of 297 bipartisan signatures—9 more than last year—representing an impressive 68% of all U.S. representatives. This was only possible because of your continued advocacy and teamwork!
Now it's time to shift momentum to the Senate, where Roger Wicker (R-MS) and Jack Reed (D-RI) have released their version of the FY27 appropriations letter. Take action today!

🏛️ Advocating for Access: Piedmont Voices Heard at the Capitol
This week, I'm proud to share that Kelly Stout represented Piedmont Health Services alongside colleagues Brendan Riley (NCCHCA) and David Taylor (Appalachian Mountain CHC) on Capitol Hill in Raleigh.
Together, they met with NC Representatives Heather Rhyne and Grant Campbell to engage in important conversations surrounding the 340B program. Advocacy like this is critical to ensuring our patients—and communities like ours—continue to have access to affordable medications and the care they deserve.
We are proud to stand alongside our partners in championing protections for the 340B program and the vital role it plays in supporting health centers across North Carolina. Thank you to Kelly and our partners for lending their voices and representing the mission and impact of Piedmont so well. This work truly makes a difference.

🌟 From CHC to PACE: Families Benefit from Collaborative Care
Please join us in celebrating Tracy Belles, our Burlington Enrollment Specialist. Tracy has been an integral part of PHSC PACE for six and a half years, serving as a driving force behind the growth and stability of our program through her expertise in referrals and enrollments.
In April, Tracy achieved a remarkable milestone by securing six new enrollments at our Burlington location—an accomplishment that has not been seen since pre-COVID 2020. This represents seven families who will now have access to the comprehensive, person-centered care that is the hallmark of PACE.
What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is that four of the six new participants were previously PHS CHC patients. This underscores the power and purpose of the CHC-PACE collaboration: providing a seamless continuum of care that allows patients to age in place safely.
Please join me in recognizing Tracy and the Burlington PACE team for this amazing accomplishment!

As we close out a strong March, I want to thank each of you for the focus, effort, and teamwork that made it possible. Your commitment to our patients and to one another continues to drive meaningful results across the organization.
I'm especially encouraged to see that missed opportunities remain at consistently low levels.
